About the foundation.
Francon Foundation is a 501(c)(3) institution headquartered in Oakland, California. Founded in 2023 by physicist and investor Matthew Chase Levy, the Foundation makes focused grants across three areas — combating hate, empowering future leaders, and energy literacy and supporting science. It keeps a deliberately small portfolio of partners, among them schools, hospitals, research centers, and civic institutions, and stays with them.
